I’ve always loved cars. But living in the city I’ve become more and more fascinated by all kinds of vehicles. Cranes, trucks, buses, vans, and even bulldozers. Powerful vehicles that roar, rumble, rattle, intimidate and crowd the streets of New York. These unsung behemoths speak to me with a magic all their own. Age, size, model, color and condition give each one a unique visual personality that can be both menacing and beautiful. Even in their windshields we see reflections of the bustling beauty and raw energy of the city. East side, west side, uptown, downtown, crosstown and midtown, New Yorkers are always on the move. Photographed from different angles and at different times, these marvels of modern life attest to the relentless currents that drive New Yorkers. And keep New York moving forward. To that end, I’ve created Moving Forward, and hope to have it published soon.
